Gunjan Patidar was associated with Zomato for the last 14 years.

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of food delivery company Zomato, Gunjan Patidar has resigned on Monday. Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato and built the core tech system for the company. Zomato had let go of some top-level positions last year, including Rahul Ganju, who headed the new initiative, and Siddharth Jhawar, former vice president and head of Intercity, and co-founder Gaurav Gupta.

Zomato told in the information sent to the stock market that Gunjan Patidar had raised the company’s tech leadership in the last more than 10 years. Zomato said that Patidar, however, was not among the key managerial staff of the company.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Gunjan Patidar was associated with Zomato for the last 14 years. He did his graduation from IIT Delhi. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has also studied from here.

In November last year, Mohit Gupta, another co-founder of the company, resigned. Gupta, who joined Zomato four-and-a-half years ago, was elevated to co-founder in 2020 from the post of CEO of its food delivery business.

Meanwhile, the stock of Zomato continues to decline. Shares of Zomato fell 1.69 per cent to close at Rs 60.30 on the Bombay Stock Exchange today. In the last one month, the shares of the company have declined by about 7.87 per cent. In the last one year, the share of Zomato has fallen by 57.34 percent.
