Gbajabiamila Enrolls In American University [Photos]

The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has enrolled in one of the most prestigious American Universities.

NewsTimes reports that the Speaker enrolled on a leadership course at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday, Gbajabiamila shared pictures of himself receiving a lecture alongside some other classmates at the institution.

The Speaker asserted that one is never too old to learn to broaden or sharpen his or her skills.

He wrote: “Back to class. In a leadership course at @Harvard @Kennedy_School. Forget the number of grey hairs one is never too old to learn, broaden or sharpen your skills.

Gbajabiamila’s tweet comes hours after the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Lagos State chapter, gave the Federal Government two weeks ultimatum to resolve its issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The Lagos NLC Chairperson, Agnes Sessy, stated this during a protest over the ongoing ASUU strike held in Ikeja, the state capital on Tuesday.

She warned that refusal to comply with ASUU demands could lead to a massive nationwide protest, similar to that of the infamous ENDSARS protest of 2020.

Recall that ASUU had shut all public universities and commenced its ongoing strike on February 14, after the FG failed to meet some of its demands

The demands are the release of revitalisation funds for universities, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, release of earned allowances for university lecturers, and deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution platform for the payment of salaries and allowances of university lecturers.
