Google Pixel 8a’s First Update Update Brings AI Wallpaper Generator

The Google Pixel 8a has started receiving its first software update. The update brings the latest May 2024 Android security patch to the handset. Google has also brought the AI wallpaper generator to the mid-range phone. Take a look at the details.

The Google Pixel 8a is receiving its first firmware update and is around 190MB in size. The AI-powered wallpaper generator is the biggest highlight of this update. The feature lets users create unique wallpapers using user-specified keywords and themes.

So far, Google kept this feature exclusive to the Pixel 8 series. This means that the Pixel 8a is the third Pixel smartphone to offer this feature. The update has now started rolling out. Other than this, the update doesn’t include anything new.

To recall, the Google Pixel 8a made its debut last week. The handset flaunts a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. It is powered by a Google Tensor G3 processor and a Titan M2 security chip. The smartphone is equipped with a 4,404mAh battery and 18W fast charging support.

The Google Pixel 8a features a dual-rear camera setup, which includes a 64MP primary camera with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, it relies on a 13MP snapper. The handset features 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and is offered in 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. It also has an IP67 rating, wireless charging support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and more.
