UPDATE [September 5 @6:15PM]: Amazon India’s Honor 90 teaser page has confirmed one more specification. It reveals the smartphone will come with a 200MP sensor as the primary camera. The company is teasing it as the “Ultra Clear Camera Smartphone” ahead of the release.
It is not a hidden secret that Honor’s first product release to mark its comeback to the Indian smartphone market will be the Honor 90 5G. It is a mid-range smartphone already available in many other regions. The phone is rumoured to get an India launch sometime in September. While we wait for a specific release date, a new leak has emerged revealing its detailed specifications and possible price range.
Honor 90 5G Could be Priced at Rs 40,000 in India
Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), a well-known and reliable tipster, has posted on X sharing Honor 90 5G specifications. The upcoming smartphone could cost between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000. The available colour options will be Green, Silver, and Black. The majority of the details are identical to the global version but there is a difference in configuration options. The tipster further talks about the possible price range for the upcoming smartphone.
The Honor 90 5G is said to sport a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The choice of processor is said to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The global version comes with an Acceleration Edition of the chipset with one 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 core, three 2.36GHz Cortex-A710 cores, and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 cores.
The smartphone is said to have multiple configurations featuring up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. It seems like Honor will not bring 16GB RAM and 512GB storage option variants to India. There will be a triple rear camera setup including a 200MP primary sensor, a 12MP sensor, and a 2MP sensor.
The leak does not mention front camera details but the global variant has a 50MP selfie shooter. The phone is said to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery along with 66W wired fast charging. It is further tipped to feature MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a mono speaker. The latter could disappoint buyers, especially considering it is claimed to cost between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000.
Honor 90 5G Expected Features
The Honor 90 5G is set to be an Amazon-exclusive release in India. The eCommerce website has already set up a teaser page for the launch. It shows the phone will have a quad-curved display with DCI-P3 colour gamut support. The panel is teased to offer 1,600 nits of peak brightness. It will have “ultra-narrow” bezels for an edgeless display viewing experience. The teaser page further hypes the Honor 90 5G design claimed to be inspired by the smooth frosted texture.
Madhav Sheth, CEO of HonorTech, previously confirmed Honor smartphones will launch with all the Google apps and services. The phone will boot Android 13 out of the box and will receive two years of OS upgrades. The company will also provide users with three years of security updates. He added users will get a clean and bloatware-free software experience with the smartphone.
