Huawei Opens Cloud Data Centre in Saudi Arabia

China’s Huawei Technologies has opened a cloud data centre in Riyadh, the Saudi capital.

The Chinese tech giant claims the cloud centre was set up in a bid to grow its online service offerings in the Middle East and North Africa.The cloud data centre in Riyadh is Huawei’s 30th worldwide.

The cloud data centre will support the Saudi’s government services and allow for AI applications and language models in Arabic.

Earlier this year, Huawei opened its regional headquarters in the Saudi capital this year has Saudi Arabia would not sign contracts with foreign companies that did not have regional headquarters in the kingdom from 2024.

Huawei plans to invest $400 million in the Saudi Arabia cloud region over the next five years.
