The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has responded to claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, that only a miracle can make him win the 2023 election.
In an interview on Channels TV on Monday, Obi said his political journey has always been characterized by miracles from God.
Obi said he contested the Anambra State Governorship election in 2003 under a party that was barely a year old and he won that year.
The former Anambra governor said he was impeached after six months but he challenged the impeachment in court and also won it when people thought it would be impossible.
He added that his political journey has been a miracle and he’s waiting for the bigger miracle to happen in 2023.
He said: “Well, my political journey has been a miracle. So many things have happened in my life that people never thought would be possible. In 2003, I contested for the Anambra Governorship election under a party that was just one year old, people said it will take a miracle for me to win the election that year, I won.
“Six months later, I was impeached. I challenged the impeachment in court, people said it will impossible for me to come back to office, that no governor has ever come back to office after impeachment, they said it will take a miracle for me to win the case in court, I won the case.
“So my political journey has been like a miracle and I’m waiting for the bigger miracle to happen in 2023. That’s my response to Atiku’s statement.”
