TECNO Announces TECNO Phantom V Flip Launch Date; Set To Debut Later this Month in Singapore
TECNO announced its first foldable device at the MWC 2023 in the form of the TECNO Phantom V Fold. The company later launched the smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs 89,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Now, TECNO has announced the launch date of its first clamshell smartphone, i.e. TECNO Phantom V Flip.
A recent listing of cases of the upcoming smartphone on Alibaba revealed the design of the upcoming smartphone. The forthcoming clamshell smartphone was also recently spotted in the Google Play Console listing, revealing its key specifications. The device was previously spotted in the FCC listing, which reveals the battery and fast charging details.
TECNO Phantom V Flip Launch Date and Expected Specifications
The teaser shared by TECNO confirms that the device will launch on September 22. TECNO advertises the smartphone with the tagline “Flip in Style,” which confirms the launch of TECNO Phantom V Flip. The event in Singapore will start at 3 PM (UTC + 8). The brand is expected to reveal more details of the upcoming foldable in the upcoming days.
The company reveals that the forthcoming product launch is part of TECNO’s commitment to explore new form factors. The Phantom V Flip is also the result of TECNO’s “Go Premium” strategy. The company also confirms that it will launch the TECNO MEGABOOK T1 2023 14-inch laptop at the event. A previous leak revealed that TECNO will launch the V Flip smartphone in the fourth quarter of 2023 in India, which means that we would not need to wait for long for its launch in the country.
The recent listing of cases in Alibaba reveals that the upcoming smartphone sports a large cut-out for the circular rear camera module. TECNO will equip the phone with dual rear cameras and an LED flash. The power button and volume rockers can be seen on the right side of the TECNO Phantom V Flip smartphone. The device will feature a waterdrop hinge mechanism for gapless closure.
The Google Play Console listing of the handset revealed that the device will feature a display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,460 pixels. A past report divulged that TECNO will equip the smartphone with a 6.9-inch and 1.39-inch cover AMOLED display. Under the hood, the device will sport the MediaTek MT6893Z/CZA chipset. The chipset will likely be MediaTek Dimensity 1300, built on a 6nm process and paired with Mali-G77 GPU.
The chipset has four Cortex A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and four Cortex A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The Google Play Console listing reveals that the device will have 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 13 out of the box. The FCC listing revealed the forthcoming TECNO Phantom V Flip will feature dual batteries of 1165mAh and 2735mAh, which combine to form a capacity of 3900mAh. The listing also reveals that the device will be backed by 45W fast charging tech.
