Tribunal judgment: What PDP, LP need to do now – Ganduje

The national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party to accept the verdict of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal which upheld the victory of President Bola Tinubu at the February 25, presidential poll.

Ganduje particularly advised the PDP and the LP to cooperate with the Present President Bola Tinubu’s government in its effort to address Nigeria’s challenges.

The former Kano governor described the verdict as thorough, adding that it addressed all the issues raised by the petitioners.

He said: “For the opposition, I urge you to accept the verdict of the tribunal. There will always be another round of elections whereby you can test your popularity and acceptability from the electorates.

Ganduje called on the PDP and the LP to accept the tribunal’s verdict in good faith, claiming that it is in line with the tenets of democracy and the rule of law.

Congratulating the judiciary for its effort to deliver justice and stating that he was never doubtful how things would turn out, the APC boss said:

“I had no doubt in my mind that the president would come out victorious, considering the massive support Nigerians gave him and our party, the APC before and during the presidential election.↳

“May I also congratulate the Nigerian Judiciary for adjudicating on the issues arising from the presidential election without fear or favour by doing the right thing.

“With this judgment, a precedent has been set for electoral matters in the country.

“The judgment attests to the fact that the rule of law would always reign supreme and our hard-earned democracy would further continue to blossom beyond limits.”
